NFL Week 16 Colts vs. Dolphins Picks & Predictions
In what remains their last playoff victory, the Dolphins defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 23-17, on December 30, 2000 at Pro Player Stadium in an AFC first-round playoff game behind a record-setting performance by running back Lamar Smith. The Colts enjoyed short-lived success with him in the pocket, building a three-game winning streak after he threw for 315 yards and two TDs in a 25-12 win over Tampa Bay in Week 12. The Colts signed former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Stephen Morris earlier this week, who will serve as Whitehurst’s backup the rest of the game.

ABOUT THE DOLPHINS (5-9): After accumulating seven touchdowns during a three-game stretch in November, Ryan Tannehill has reached the end zone only twice this month and thrown for just 538 yards in three outings. But things took a turn for the worse in Week 16 when Hasselbeck suffered an injury and had to head into the locker room.
The Indianapolis Colts (6-8) are coming from a from a 16-10 loss to the Houston Texans. After calling the team together, Wannstedt jumped on Smith’s back and yelled, “You carried us all season”. Miami has the home field advantage today. While the Colts are fairly beaten up, Pagano has not conceded this season.
