Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been suspended one game for cross checking Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, the team announced Saturday.

Dubinsky and Crosby were battling around the Blue Jackets net during the second period and once in front of the net, Dubinsky delivered a cross-check to the back of Crosby’s neck. As Crosby went to the ice in pain, the Columbus player gave him another shove in the back. He received a two-minute penalty for the play and assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime. He has two goals and nine points in those seven games.

Atkinson’s game-winner – set up by a pass from Dubinsky – soured a sensational night for Fleury, who made 41 saves.

The Blues have played few duds this season, but their 3-1 loss to Columbus Nov. 17 at Nationwide Arena was one of them. From the last stages of the first period, the game felt like a powderkeg. But again, that’s not the type of player I am.

“Yeah, I mean I’m not surprised, if that’s what you’re asking…if I was going to get one of those shots it was probably going to be from him”. The most common denominator in everything was Penguin Evgeni Malkin who racked up a total of 9 penalty minutes. They’re 8-4 during November, and they’ll be looking to match a season-high three-game win streak on Saturday against the Blues.

He then passed the puck to Atkinson in the left circle for the game-winner. The St. Louis Blues have no excuse to lose to the Jackets tonight with this long of a rest, at home, and when their opponent played the night before. Penguins coach Mike Johnston said D Olli Maatta is still at least a week from playing because of an upper-body injury caused when he was slammed into an open gate on the bench during play….
