Bringing the original cast and creator Mike Bullen back together – minus Helen Baxendale, whose character Rachel was killed in Series 5 – fans were delighted to have the show back.

The Manchester-based series is back starring Coleraine man James Nesbitt, John Thomson, Fay Ripley, Robert Bathurst and Hermione Norris.

Producers failed to persuade Helen Baxendale, whose character Rachel died in a vehicle crash, to return to the comedy drama as a ghost.

On the day of the ceremony, he confided to his landlord that he was beginning to have second thoughts.

Adam loves Karen but will he turn his back on Matt?

Despite this, Adam did go on to say “I do” but clearly with much trepidation.

Rachel met a tragic end in the penultimate episode of series five when she was killed while changing the music channels in her auto when driving.

Last night’s episode saw Adam chatting to Tina (Leanne Best) about his doubts about his new bride Angela (Karen David) and sharing more than a few flirtatious moments after she mistook him for a taxi driver.

“In the new series it’s born out of a boat journey and then he falls instantly in love with Angela, played by Karen David”.

The new series was popular with Twitter users.

Christopher Stevens wrote: “Cold Feet is a show to be enjoyed for the emotions it evokes: the overriding one was a wave of warmth at meeting old friends, people we thought we’d never see again”.

So it was an especially cruel twist to kill her off when things were finally looking up for the couple, who had just found the flawless family home to buy.
