Niantic wants to launch Pokemon Go in 200 markets
But all seems to indicate that Pokemon Go is only the first big wave to be followed by other bigger waves, in which case Nintendo’s stock will continue to soar, and the stocks of other companies active in the sector will soar as well.

After the app’s launch in the United Kingdom yesterday, it didn’t even take a whole day, as Pokémon GO conquered the United Kingdom charts by reaching the top spot on the iOS gross revenue chart in just a matter of hours.
Before Pokemon Go, Niantic developed Ingress, a science-fiction-themed massively multiuser AR game that attracted a community of avid players but – like all ventures of Alphabet into gaming and social media to date – failed to become a mass hit.

Niantic’s location-based augmented reality mobile game has created a worldwide sensation since its rollout on 6 July, despite the fact that it is not available in most countries.
It doesn’t help matters that Pokemon Go’s servers haven’t gotten much better post-launch.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said he was unaware of reports that the game could be a security risk and that he did not have time to play with such things.
“Our concern is that some of the way points in this game are in geographically more unsafe areas than others”.
Its Game Boy and DS hand-held machines pioneered mobile games, and Japanese children have been using network connections on such machines to play games with total strangers. Not only is the game not on Chinese app stores, but also Google services are blocked in China.

Of course, it would have been good to invest before the launch of Pokemon Go. John Hanke, the CEO of developer Niantic Labs, told Reuters the goal is to have the game available in roughly 200 markets “relatively soon”, though he did not provide any specific timing details.
