Nick Carter Says Bindi Irwin Deserved To Win ‘DWTS’ Mirrorball Trophy: ‘She

The 17-year-old was clearly emotional about a season where she was favorited to win from the very beginning. Among her many routines, in one freestyle performance she paid tribute to her late father Steve.

One of the wildlife warrior’s routines was a fusion dance which she had only 24 hours to prepare for.

In the Part 2 of the Season Finale, Bindi and Derek turned in another flawless performance, earning a 30 for their Cha Cha / Argentine Tango to “All the Way” by Timeflies.

Speaking after her win, she said: “For us, we really want to make sure that dad’s legacy and message continues”.

“I can’t believe I’m here”, Irwin exclaimed.

“She told Good Morning America: ‘It truly has changed my life and I feel like I have grown as a person”.

“For me, this whole experience has meant the world, for my whole family”, Irwin said to Entertainment Tonight after leaving the stage.

Back in 2006, Steve Irwin was pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming an underwater documentary.

Third place went to Alek Skarlatos and pro partner Lindsay Arnold. She is competing against Oregon Army National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and singer Nick Carter for the mirror ball trophy.

Bindi and dance partner Derek Hough busted out a quickstep, which drew universal acclaim from the judges.

She added: “The only way I’d ever be able to describe it is to say it has been a gift”.

Fellow finalist and former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter also got a flawless score, but Irwin pipped him at the post when it came to viewers’ votes.

The teenager’s journey on the show was filled with emotions as she dedicated her proud moments to her late father. “I ‘ve never seen anybody quite like you”.
