Robinson, Alabama’s starting left tackle, is projected to be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft next April.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban along with players Eddie Jackson, O.J. Howard, and Jonathan Allen interviewed with the media Wednesday morning at SEC Media Days in Hoover.

“Cam Robinson and Hootie were not charged with anything”, said Saban, whose team opens the season September 3 against USC.

Saban emphasized that the decision to not press charges was “out of my hands” and that “the facts of the case as they have been advertised are different than what we’ve been told”. “Both players have done a significant amount of things to change their behavior internally, whether it was police ride-around, whether it was community service or juvenile groups that need positive role models and influence to make better choices and decisions”. Saban said. “We made contributions to some of the flood relief to help the people, but we also wanted to do something to help the young people whose seasons could be wiped out if we can’t replace the equipment they lost in the flood”.

KNOA-TV in Louisiana obtained documents detailing the program’s discipline.

Robinson and Jones were arrested at 2:33 a.m. May 17 in their hometown of Monroe, La., after a police officer spotted their vehicle in a city park. Both were charged with possession of marijuana. The charges were dropped a little more than a month later in June but the question remained what Saban would do with the two players.

Nowkhah said Saban “owns the media”, while making chicken noises. “I think you have to look at the whole picture”. “Based on the information we got and what they did, that’s what we’re going to do”.
