Nick Saban Responds To The Firing Of Les Miles
Saban sad to see Miles go: Saban and former LSU head coach Les Miles have shared several memorable matchups on the field over the years.

Many of those players, as well as current ones, were outspoken in November when Miles was almost ousted after a three-game losing streak that sent LSU tumbling from a top-five ranking and a possible berth in the College Football Playoff to the Texas Bowl. His son, Manny, is a walk-on quarterback for the Tar Heels.
Fisher, who waited in the wings under Bobby Bowden has led Florida State to a level success that rivals any in its programs history.
LSU’s first game under Orgeron is Saturday in Tiger Stadium against Missouri.
“Coach Miles has done a tremendous job here and he’s been a great ambassador for our University, which makes this even more hard”, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said in a written statement.
“It was beyond fighting”, he said.
Orgeron said he doesn’t expect much to change in his relationship with his staff even though he’ll go from being one of their peers to supervising them.
Houston coach Tom Herman told the Houston Chronicle on Sunday night that LSU has contacted neither he or his agent about the Tigers’ head coaching vacancy.
Miles thanked Alleva for the opportunity to address the Tigers at a team meeting Sunday. “I play no tennis. They have strengths that I don’t have, and we’re going to lean on each other and pull together”.
He called the LSU job “a blast” and said he does not feel sorry for himself. “He left the team first class and he walked out and said, ‘Ed, I support you.’ And we gave him a standing ovation, and we moved on”.
Not only does LSU need to present a unified front to both commits and targets alike, but it needs to quickly sort out its identity post-Miles.

LSU lost 18-13 at Auburn to drop to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in the SEC. But many seemed to be absolutely stunned and the “LSU is making a massive mistake” and “how can you fire a coach who wins 10 games a year?” narratives were seemingly on every major platform. The best thing I can do is do whatever coach O asks us. So ends a 12-year run for 1 of the most popular coaches in the SEC.
“I think the world of the man, and our players are going to love him”, he added. But The Replay clearly showed the clock hit zero before the play started.
“I always review everything”.
Viator said he’ll always appreciate Miles acknowledging to the media and fans that McNeese, not LSU, was the winningest college program in Louisiana prior to the game in 2010. Coaches like Miles don’t just hang around, waiting to transform a program’s destiny.

“I understand exactly what he says now”, Etling said.
