Nick Saban takes backhanded swipe at Southern Miss, Mississippi State
The former Trojans head coach agreed to become an offensive analyst with Alabama, where he’ll serve under Nick Saban.

“We’re glad to have him as part of the organization”, Saban said. “Hopefully he’ll be able to get back on his feet professionally and this will be beneficial to him”.
While the redshirt senior started every game at right guard last season, he was relegated to working with the second-team offense during the spring due to weight and conditioning issues.
According to the Associated Press former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian has joined Lane Kiifin at Alabama as Nick Saban’s coaching staff. Then-Athletic Director Pat Haden gave him the axe in October after he showed up to a practice in poor condition.
The case since moved to arbitration. “We need to get ready to play this game as if we’re playing a really good football team, because we are”. “And he has an opportunity”.
In a brief interview posted on TMZ.com last month, Sarkisian appeared healthy and noticeably slimmer.
“When the first quarter was over, I was wondering to myself, ‘Was this a good plan, or a bad plan?'” Saban said of his hopes to start Barrett or Cooper Bateman and feature Hurts in spot duty, beginning with the third series, when he promptly fumbled.
Sarkisian, who was sacked by USC in the middle of his second season, had previously reached an agreement to work as a television analyst during games for Fox Sports. Coach Les Miles said he had to review the film of Boutte’s hit, and that it was out of character for his lineman. “He adds a dimension with his athleticism and his ability to run that I think is very effective, and I think that actually opened up the running game”.
MORE: The USC Trojans will be double-digit underdogs for the first time since 2011 Saturday night when they face the Crimson Tide. Sarkisian and Kiffin both served as offensive coordinators under head coach Pete Carroll during the Trojans triumphant championship runs in the mid-2000s. He also spent five seasons at Washington before that, where he went 34-29.
The Huskies went 0-12 in 2008, the year before he was hired.

Hurts totaled 150 yards and four touchdowns in No. 1 Alabama’s 52-6 deconstruction of No. 20 USC at AT&T Stadium on Friday. Kiffin, the USC coach from 2010-13, directed an offense that amassed nearly 500 total yards and 35 second-half points.
