Ellen DeGeneres sure knows how to get the most out of the rappers she interviews, and with Nicki Minaj on her show on Thursday (April 7) the daytime talkshow host lands another exclusive.

When Ellen commented on the lovely ring Meek gifted Nicki with back in December, she called it an engagement ring. “That’s all”, Minaj said. That’s not my engagement ring though.
She also said that she is entering a new chapter of her life in which she wants to be nicer and more conscientious to those around her when asked if she ever regrets her past feuds with fellow celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Lil’ Kim, and Mariah Carrey. “Whatever boy that is”.
After Minaj received not one, but two enormous pieces of finger candy, the “Starships” emcee insists she’s still not engaged.
Nicki continued: ‘We’re still figuring each other out. Minaj claims that telling people that tends to elicit a negative response, which she is exhausted of.
Minaj, 33, went on to say that public scrutiny was the reason she kept her relationship with ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels a secret. He’s not happy about you saying your single.
“For instance, Valentine’s Day passed, and I didn’t put up my Valentine’s Day gift on Instagram, and people said ‘They’re not together, ‘” she explained.
Minaj then gave a somewhat cryptic ending to her romance talk as she explained that she’s not sure what’s going to happen between her and Meek. “Thank you for coming out…” She told the audience that you don’t need to have anyones approval and that it is better to keep those things sacred. “Are you ready to get engaged?” to which Minaj replied, “You know, I don’t know”. “There’s a boy that likes me, that’s all”, she shared.

Nicki – who described her and her man as “two souls right now passing through the universe” – didn’t want to speculate on the future.
