Nicklas Bendtner in advanced talks to join Nottingham Forest

The striker has been without a club since his contract at Wolfsburg was terminated but has been in talks with Nottingham Forest and could play against old club Arsenal.

With Forest playing Arsenal at the City Ground in the third round of the EFL Cup on September 20, Bendtner could quickly come up against his former club.

Bendtner, who is looking to recover from flopping at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, is available as a free agent which means he can move outside the transfer window system.

And a switch to Championship side Nottingham Forest appears to be very much on the cards.

Bendtner is now a free agent after his contract was terminated in April this year.

Bendtner started his senior career at the Gunners and made 108 appearances for the North London club in nine years from 2005.

Queens Park Rangers have shown an interest in Bendtner, but Nottingham Forest are now leading the race to sign the Denmark global. Is he the flawless partner for young forward Britt Assombalonga?
