Nico Rosberg: ‘Still a long way to go’ after losing lead
Triple Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton won the Hungarian Grand Prix for Mercedes to take the lead in the championship from team mate Nico Rosberg for the first time this season.

Red Bull’s Ricciardo came third ahead of Sebastian Vettel in a Ferrari.
Vettel was clearly referring to Mercedes driver Rosberg’s pole lap in the final seconds of Q3 when he spoke. He beat Rosberg by 1.977 seconds.
There was some amusement in the post-race press conference after Hamilton, Rosberg and Daniel Ricciardo were asked by a Hungarian journalist for their views on the rather striking attire worn by the grid girls.
The Briton has won five of the last six races, including the last three.
The win was Hamilton’s fifth in Hungary, making Hamilton the most successful driver at the Hungaroring in its 31-race history with one more victory than Michael Schumacher.
“I managed to get my head together and get on with it even though I have fewer engines, and all these different things that didn’t seem to be working with me, just deal with it”.
Starting from pole, Rosberg was jumped by his teammate and both Red Bull Racing drivers.
Hamilton had a two second lead to team-mate Nico Rosberg before coming across Gutierrez on-track. “So I already lost the win there and that was a big disappointment”.
But the four-time champion was able to get ahead by making his first pit stop two laps earlier than Verstappen, whose race was further damaged by emerging behind Raikkonen who was yet to stop. You will see a couple of races go towards one and then towards the other.
Hamilton was then seen gesturing toward the Mexican as he passed him. I’m sure he didn’t want to back him up. “I said to them “just be chilled, I know what I’m doing”. ‘I fully expected him to come back and I didn’t expect to be 43 points in front all the time.

McLaren’s Jenson Button was the only driver who did not finish the race, pulling out after 60 laps with smoke coming out of the vehicle. The first problem on Button’s auto occurred on lap five when he reported his brake pedal was extending to the floor, seeing him drop from eighth to last in one lap. Stewards reviewed the radio messages and gave Button a drive-through penalty, to the British driver’s clear dismay. Mercedes leads the Constructors’ Championship with 378 points ahead of Ferrari with 224 points and Red Bull with 223 points. “To win the grand prix and have a so-so weekend, I’m pretty happy with that”.
