“That’s most important. To be here inside a club that looks so wonderful from the outside is a dream”.

“I have seen Otamendi play a few times, especially when he was at Porto alongside Elia where they both looked very solid”, Sagna told City’s website, referring to another teammate in Eliaquim Mangala.

Nicolas Otamendi is beginning to settle into life as a Manchester City player and where better to start then footballers’ favourite haunt, San Carlo. He’s strong, he’s excellent in the tackle and he’s very good technically.

City will be delighted to get Otamendi on board.

There seems to be something about this summer transfer window and players making U-turn’s to join Manchester City.

Otamendi has long been on City’s radar after his superb debut season in La Liga, but the deal was tied up in little more than a week.

Manchester City have announced the singing of Argentine defender Nicolas Otamendi from La Liga club, Valencia.

“He is an Argentina global, has good ability on the ball and is quite calm in possession so I think he will be a great addition to our squad”.

Otamendi is the third major arrival at the club this summer, joining recent recruits Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph.

Valencia were believed to be hoping to use the sale of the player to write off part of the fee they still owe City for striker Alvaro Negredo.

Nuno said he had full confidence in Germany global Shkodran Mustafi and Portuguese Ruben Vezo and the central defensive pair had performed well in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League playoff victory at home to Monaco.

Otamendi spent just one season at Valencia, who he helped finish fourth, having enjoyed three title-winning campaigns at Porto, who he joined in 2010 from Velez Sarsfield in his homeland.

The highly-rated centre-back was also a member of the Argentina team that finished runners-up to Chile in the Copa America last month.
