Nicolas Otamendi not being pursued by Manchester United
Manchester United are not interested in signing Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Louis van Gaal is believed to be satisfied with the likes of Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo as his centre-back options, while Jonny Evans, Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair could also be called upon if needed. West Ham United are interested in the Mexico forward, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid. United wanted either a massive fee or Sergio Ramos to move in the opposite direction, but reports now suggest Real Madrid will offer neither.
Meanwhile, United also started the season by winning their first game 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur and have a double header Champions League play-off scheduled against Club Brugge later this month.
United are on the brink of a €30m deal for the Argentine, with a reporter with Valencia-based TV station SillasGol claiming to have seen the legal documents that confirm the deal [Translated tweet below].
Manchester United have been linked to Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi and Everton’s John Stones, with Pedro’s transfer seemingly assured.

Otamendi was head and shoulders above most of the other central defenders in La Liga last year and he would have brought a physicality and leadership to United’s defence that doesn’t appear to be present at the moment. The Cameroon worldwide will cost £10 million.
