Nicolle Wallace not returning to ‘The View’

EW has confirmed that Wallace has been offered a job as a contributor, not a host, for the 19th season.

Critics have said that while Wallace is a solid contributor on political topics, she has shown a weaker side while addressing pop culture and celebrities.

According to Variety, ABC has fired Wallace from her position as one of The View’s co-hosts- although there’s potential for her to return in a smaller role down the line. Who should take her place?

Loosely translated: Wallace was not up to speed on the Kardashians and not shrill enough to be The View’s conservative talking head, which is rich, because being a not-shrill conservative is kind of Wallace’s thing. She has yet to decide whether to return in the fall, a source told EW.

Reports of Wallace’s departure follows Rosie Perez’s tearful farewell last week and Rosie O’Donnell’s exit earlier this year.

So next season’s View cast will look very different.

With ratings down considerably compared to past year, and heightened competition from CBS’s The Talk, some are wondering if it might not be time to just call it a day and let The View ride off into the sunset.

Is the revolving door at “The View” ever going to end? ABC hasn’t been patient, and execs aren’t giving viewers time to get used to new co-hosts. “I’ve never met her and would love to meet her and work with her”.

If you noticed that Wallace wasn’t on Wednesday’s episode, there’s a reason for that too.
