Twenty people have been killed and 90 others injured in a bomb explosion at a mosque in northern Nigeria, officials say.

Witnesses said a twin suicide bombing also killed at least 30 people in Madagali, a town which is about 150 kilometers southeast of Maiduguri.
In an expected show of defiance, Boko Haram attacked a series of towns in the north of Africa’s most populous nation and biggest oil producer, calling into question Buhari’s claim that the militants weren’t capable of “conventional” attacks. He said some residents had found undetonated bombs.
The suicide attacks come a day after the Nigerian military announced it had arrested at least seven “bomb experts” in Kaduna, in the center of the country.
He said that 14 insurgents and four soldiers died in the ensuing gun battle.
Abubakar appealed to the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to the security agencies.
The incident have jolted Maiduguri as fear of more blasts enveloped the city, a resident told Xinhua earlier on Monday.
Victims of a Boko Haram attack receive treatment at a hospital, in Maiduguri, Nigeria on Monday.
Boko Haram has waged a war on the Nigerian government for nearly six years now, killing over 20,000 people in its various village raids, shootings, and suicide bombings. “This is because when you have the kind of insurgency that we have, farmers can not go to their farms and if you know what Borno State represents in the agricultural landscape of Nigeria, you’ll know that this should be our major concern now”.
Cameroon is also in an 8,700-strong regional force led by Nigeria against the militants, expected to be operational by the end of the year.
Furo said the injured have been taken to Mubi General Hospital and Yola Specialists Hospital.
However, the administration added that isolated attacks and suicide bombings by the militants can not immediately be ruled out.
Eyewitnesses said the Madagali attack was carried out by three female suicide bombers, but this has not yet been independently verified. “However, it is important to maintain more vigilance and security consciousness”, Colonel Mustapha Anka, Media Coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, said.

The source said the insurgents struck again on Sunday evening at about 7:30 at Jiddari Polo, during which they attacked a local beer parlour which they burnt down after killing two persons. Given that so many people had been blown to pieces, the body count was a hard task to do.
