Nigerian army arrests journalist with links to Boko Haram

It is a fact today that under current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, a former military leader and a commander himself during the civil war, multinational forces has retaken most towns but Boko Haram continues to carry out occasional hit-and-run attacks.

Nigeria’s Department of State Services said it arrested two Boko Haram members attempting to infiltrate the Nigerian army.

This is contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army Colonel Sani Usman.

Opuiyo also said the service on August 22, arrested one Samuel Asuquo, who was described as a kidnap kingpin, at Nasarawa Bakoko village in Cross River State.

According to an exclusive report by Premium Times, Salkida, who was taken into custody weeks after being declared wanted by the army, has been denied access to his lawyer, Femi Falana, who is representing him.

All documents and devices confiscated from him were returned.

Mr. Ahmad Salkida, known for his knowledge of the ranks of the extremist sect, Boko Haram, was arrested at the Abuja airport as he arrived from his United Arab Emirate base.

“During preliminary investigation, the suspected terrorist personally confirmed his photograph on the wanted list and further revealed that he specialised on rearing animals for the terrorist group”. They must therefore come forward and tell us where the group is keeping the Chibok Girls and other abducted persons to enable us rescue them.
