The statement reads: “The Boko Haram suspect on the wanted list number 105, Muhammed Bulama, has been arrested by troops on Tuesday 6th July 2016 in Yobe state”.

Recall that Salkida was arrested on Monday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, from the door of the Emirates Flight EK785 aircraft that brought him to Abuja.

The Nigerian Army declared Halkida and two others wanted shortly after Boko Haram released a video in which it claimed there were still some Chibok girls in its custody.

He said, “In response to the regrouping of Boko Haram elements in Kano State, the DSS in concert with the military, carried out coordinated operations in the state which led to the apprehension of two high profile members of the sect”.

Mr. Salkida, who was in Dubai at the time of the announcement, said he would expedite preparation to return to Nigeria and turn himself in.

Mr. Salkida was declared wanted on August 14 alongside Aisha Wakil, a lawyer, and Ahmed Bolori, a peace activist based in Maiduguri.

Salkida added that the army was declaring him wanted for simply carrying out his professional duties as a journalist, stressing that he does most of his work with “total allegiance and sacrifice to the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
