Nike unveils new Kobe shoes, Bryant hiding autographed kicks
Bryant’s final on-court shoe was revealed today by Nike Basketball. While that design direction doesn’t sound entirely new to the Kobe line, it’s unquestionably the most evolved version of the winning formula. It is the first Nike basketball shoe to introduce Flyknit by offering a new Flyknit upper with a thermoplastic polyurethane yarn for additional strength.

The low-top sneaker features Nike’s premium Flyknit design, much like the designs incorporated in the Kobe 9 and 10 released in the past, and rejuvenated Nike technologies to enhance your playing experiences. The shoes also have full-length lunarlon foam, translucent rubber outsole, a zoom air unit in the heel, and mesh tongue construction.
Specifically on the Achilles Heel colorway, you’ll find a graphic representation of the hero on the right heel with the left heel holding four stitch marks to signify the four feet of thread used in Bryant’s 2013 Achilles surgery. RINGS. Bryant has 5 of them, as displayed in this photo at The Vault in Los Angeles.

There is absolutely nothing that we could say about the career and subsequent retirement of Kobe Bryant that has not already been said.

However, with the shoe not being released to the general public until January 9th, Kobe announced that he and Nike would have a fun way to keep fans and sneakerheads preoccupied leading up to the sneaker’s launch date.
