Nikki Haley’s endorsement boosts Rubio

Cruz blasted Trump for his past campaign contributions to candidates like former President Jimmy Carter, former secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden, whose names were listed on a chart among the other Democrats Trump has donated to.

“If we elect Marco Rubio, every day will be a great day in America”, the popular governor said.

Mr Bush confessed on Wednesday that he was “disappointed” in Mrs Haley’s decision. He accused Cruz supporters of using “push polls” and creating a fake Facebook page wrongly claiming that South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy had switched his endorsement from the Florida senator to Cruz.

Haley said she wanted to endorse a president who “would have the back of our military veterans and those in active duty”, and who is “all about term limits in D.C”.

Bush has repeatedly sung Haley’s praises, even hinting that he would pick her as his vice presidential nominee should he be the choice of voters as the Republican nominee.

Trump’s comments could further alarm some Republican leaders, who fear Trump or Texas Sen.

Seventy percent of respondents said Bush had the right kind of experience to be president, while 68 percent said the same for Cruz and 60 percent for Trump.

Two of South Carolina’s largest newspapers – the Post and Courier and the State – first reported the endorsement.

“Last year, the country learned what an inspiration SC was”, Rubio said.

Cruz focused on someone else, Donald Trump, saying Trump’s attempts to sue him aren’t serious.

Romney had backed Haley’s first run for governor in 2010, when she was still the longshot candidate in a four-way GOP primary. Marco Rubio will take center-stage Wednesday in Greenville, while front-runner Donald Trump, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Ohio Gov. John Kasich will appear in Columbia Thursday. But the NBC/Wall Street Journal survey, conducted by two longtime pollsters, Republican Bill McInturff and Peter Hart, a Democrat, is one of the most highly regarded in the field, so the results are likely to attract considerable attention.

“I’ll tell you why they say Ted is unlikable in Washington”, Cruz said. “His optimistic message is bringing voters from across the party lines, from across different demographic groups”, said Jindal who himself dropped out of the presidential race in November after failing to get any traction in the polls”, Jindal said.

“There are a lot of states in the “SEC Primary” and with Trump having a 21-point lead, it’s really hard to invest assets in Alabama to fight that”, Gray said.
