Nina Dobrev gets emotional at Teen Choice Awards, says ‘change means new

After taking to the stage to accept the iconic surfboard-shaped award, Britney gave a special shout out to her two sons Sean Preston, nine, and Jayden James, eight, as well as her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ seven-year-old daughter Maddie.

She also thanked her wife Portia de Rossi, as the night was also the couple’s 7th wedding anniversary.

He said: “And since this is a Teen Choice award, you handsome teens, there is one teen in the audience that is a part of the family that kept us going”.

As for Teen Choice Award nominees, there’s a large number of them, with over 80 different awards available at tonight’s event. “But change is necessary… necessary to grow up and learn and to better yourself”.

“So the last few months have been a pretty big change for me”, she said. “We can’t swim!”

The “Furious 7” cast won an award, in addition to the late Paul Walker who earned choice male actor for the action flick.

“As this chapter of my life comes to an end, I look back at it with a grateful heart, and I smile, because just like my character Elena, I started the show as a young girl, and together we grew up”, she said. “One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we had the opportunity to call Pablo our brother”.

Diesel then singled out his goddaughter Meadow, praising her for keeping everyone “encouraged” despite her father’s sad death.

‘I was the opposite of chosen because I was different, and I think I wanna make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now makes you stand out later in life.
