Nine refugees die as boat overturns in Aegean Sea

Greek authorities say 1,244 refugees and economic migrants have been rescued from frail craft in danger over the past three days in the Aegean Sea, as thousands continue to arrive on the Greek islands.
The Greek authorities said they have rescued seven people, but emergency crews are still searching for between two to four people listed as missing.
The coastguard said on Tuesday four women were among the latest victims and that the search was still underway for two boys whose family said they were from Iraq.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the boat overturned, or what the passengers’ nationalities were. The worldwide Organization for Migration said more than 593,000 people have crossed this year of which 453,000 traveled from Turkey to Greece, which has faced a massive influx of people from Syria.
