Ninja’s collaboration with singer Drake breaks Twitch viewer records
In 2015, before anyone was truly taking the platform seriously, Deadmau5 started showing his real face on camera, streaming whatever video game he wanted to play. Resting at a steady 400,000 live viewers the record was set shortly after Drake then tweeted that he was playing to his 36.8 million Twitter followers.

It was a star-studded occasion.
Travis Scott and JuJu Smith-Schuster also joined the same game later too, with rappers Lil Yachty and Logic also lined up to play. With this much mainstream attention, from casuals and hardcores alike, it really shouldn’t be surprising that Ninja (and “Fortnite”) crossed Drake’s radar.
The stream had Ninja playing a few Fortnite matches with Drake before all four of them teamed up to play the game.
Drake (yes, that Drake), and Twitch‘s Ninja combined forces to take down other Duo teams on Fortnite. For one, Drake says “God’s Plan” while reviving Travis Scott in Fortnite. The previous Twitch record for non-tournament rounds was Dr. Disrespect’s 388,000, while Eleague Major: Boston 2018 still holds the all-time Twitch record with 1.1 million views.

During the gaming session, Drake and Ninja chatted it up, with the rapper saying he likes to play in between recording sessions. A couple of teething issues were nearly inevitable, but after they managed to figure out Discord, a wonderful new friendship had begun and the God’s Plan jokes just started pouring in. Ninja was a pro competitive Halo player before he turned to streaming games as his main profession; he mainly plays (and is known to be very good at) the shooter sensation Fortnite.
