In short, the creator said that Nintendo has a list of priorities right now to take care of, and it is hard to fit Pikmin 4 on that list of priorities. It’s obviously beneficial that fans are interested in the idea of movies starring the company’s iconic characters, but it’s perhaps too soon to get the hype train rolling if any movie project is yet to even enter pre-production.
“As for VR, we are researching not just VR but AR and many other technologies”. At this point, only two things are for sure when it comes to Nintendo and VR; they are being extremely cautious, and they are highly unlikely to re-release the Virtual Boy.
The company will also no doubt be developing other, unknown launch titles for the NX’s launch to ensure the platform arrives with plenty to play.
Just ignore the fact that Nintendo made the Virtual Boy, probably the least fun video game system ever made.
