Nintendo Believed Nintendo Wii U Sales Would Break 100 Million

The Nintendo Wii has sold 101.63 million units worldwide since March of this year.

Shigeru Miyamoto, creator and designer of Nintendo’s puzzle solving on a cute alien planet Pikmin series, said that Pikmin 4 is still in development, but hasn’t been on the “list of priorities” lately, he told GameRant. And Nintendo can’t keep every mouth shut.

Without a word yet from Nintendo, the rumor mill continues.

One of the more infamous stories that came after former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s death was that his predecessor, Hiroshi Yamauchi, said that if Nintendo Wii U sales weren’t good enough that Iwata should kill himself.

One thing that any Nintendo fan will tell you is that the company’s best games have an nearly indescribable feel to them. “Software for NX will also contribute to sales and profit”, said Kimishima. In short, the creator said that Nintendo has a list of priorities right now to take care of, and it is hard to fit Pikmin 4 on that list of priorities. It’s obviously beneficial that fans are interested in the idea of movies starring the company’s iconic characters, but it’s perhaps too soon to get the hype train rolling if any movie project is yet to even enter pre-production.

“As for VR, we are researching not just VR but AR and many other technologies”. At this point, only two things are for sure when it comes to Nintendo and VR; they are being extremely cautious, and they are highly unlikely to re-release the Virtual Boy.

The company will also no doubt be developing other, unknown launch titles for the NX’s launch to ensure the platform arrives with plenty to play.

Just ignore the fact that Nintendo made the Virtual Boy, probably the least fun video game system ever made.
