Nintendo NX Suppliers Expect 10 Million Sales in 2016
DigiTimes claims that the controversial company Foxconn has been chosen as the NX’s primary manufacturer, with a whole range of other companies supplying the resources to make it. Some new footage of The Legend of Zelda on Wii U (or another title) seems likely, but there’s always a slim chance that Nintendo could use this platform to officially debut their latest console.

While Nintendo is aiming to ship up to 20 million NX units in 2016, it is claimed that the various upstream suppliers (the ones who supply the resources) are only expecting it to ship around 10-12 million units.
I find the information a little suspect, but if it’s true, I think 12 million shipped in its first year is a little optimistic – particularly given the negative perception surrounding the Wii U.
Those suppliers include manufacturing titan Foxconn Electronics, as well as Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku, Delta, Lingsen, and Jentech.
However until we know more about what the NX is like, we are taking stabs in the dark.
The Nintendo NX would have to deliver a pretty impressive set of features to be competitive on a market where the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony are continuing to deliver impressive sales and are accompanied by a variety of solid video game releases.

Nintendo’s decision to launch a new console mid-generation is a risky one, and one being watched closely by the whole industry.
