Nintendo’s Latest Console Is A Miniature Version Of The Original
Gaming giant Nintendo announced on its official website the upcoming release of a new retro gaming console: the mini Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Classic – a replica of the USA version of what was known as the Famicom or Family Computer in Asia and other parts of the world. The console comes complete with 30 NES games built in, including beloved classics like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, PAC-MAN, and Kirby’s Adventure.

It goes without saying that we believe Nintendo will have a hot seller on its hands with the Mini NES.
Nintendo says it’s bringing back the wildly popular system that launched in the 1980s so those who grew up with it can pass gaming memories onto the next generation. If you have a Wii or a WiiU, you can take advantage of the Virtual Console, but that’s a pricey proposition when you factor into the cost of the console and then the individual games.
We suppose it would be nice to have newer games to choose from, that’s the situation for now. And, if you need to get a Luigi in, Nintendo will also sell extra NES Classic Controllers for $10 each. Well, fear not, as Nintendo has fixed that little problem. Each game will now feature multiple suspend points “so you can start where you left off at a later time, no passwords needed”, Fils-Aime said. “Both can be plugged directly into the console; however, when using two controllers, one of them must be the NES Classic Controller”. Instead, it’s basically an emulator with 30 games preloaded and ready to play, including all three of the classic Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man 2 (Nintendo understands its classic series well), and, crucially, Tecmo Bowl. 2, Super Mario Bros.

NES Classic Edition will hit stores on November 11 at a suggested retail price of $59.99. You can also hook up a Wii controller.
