Nintendo says NX ‘is not about specs’
Sony has announced that they will have a Virtual Reality option for the PlayStation 4 console and Microsoft is in the works of Project Scorpio, which a much stronger Xbox One.

Nintendo has hinted that it may be continuing its trend of allowing its competitors to take the performance lead in the console market, with Nintendo America head Reggie Fils-Aime stating that the battle is ‘not about the horsepower. “We’re focused on bringing our best entertainment to both the Wii U as well as the NX in the future”.
Nintendo’s heavily-rumoured NX console is due to appear as a successor for its commercially unsuccessful Wii U, a device which boasts a great first-party games library and an innovative controller but which lost out to rival devices from Sony and Microsoft due to the perception that it was little more than a mildly upgraded previous-generation Wii. The system’s specs have yet to be confirmed.
It’s been a while since fans last heard anything official about the Nintendo NX, but the wait for new information may come to an end before the year wraps up. This port might also point to a renewed commitment to Nintendo consoles on the part of Ubisoft.
We can safely say that this puts any rumors of VR coming to Nintendo’s NX to rest, at least when it launches next March.
The original Wii, despite being underpowered, sold so well because it introduced a brand new mode of gaming, using motion controls to entice gamers. The upcoming Nintendo NX is described as “an entirely new idea” so it’ll be interesting to see which way things will go this time around. Similarly, Sony too will join the fray with its upcoming console, the PS4 Neo.
Another aspect worth mentioning, that Fils-Aime touched on, was VR support.
“We’ve been looking at the VR space since the days of the Virtual Boy”, he said.
“For us we want to make sure we bring out best content forward”.

IGN adds that Nintendo did not make any announcements on, nor did it release the NX at this year’s E3.
