Although Shigero only announced the game for iOS, according to a report by Kotaku, Nintendo also intends to release the game on Android at some point in the future.

Super Mario Run release date for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) is December 2016. On the higher levels of the game, players are able to compete with other game players to score and create a kingdom.

Nintendo is finally bringing Super Mario to the iPhone.

The creator of Mario, the puppet-inspired character, Shigeru Miyamoto gave a demonstration of the new game on Wednesday during the launch of the iPhone 7. Super Mario Run will be free to download but it will have an additional set purchase price to unlock all the content. Super Mario Run might just get by on its brand name alone and prove to be a success in spite of not being completely free. Users are now able to sign up to be notified when the game is released. The delayed games were significant at announcement, as both would have been the first reputable Nintendo franchises in a long time, to appear on a non-Nintendo platform. However, Android users will receive Super Mario Run, but it won’t be until sometime next year.
