Nintendo Shares Up 56% Amid Pokemon GO Craze

The developers are busy updating the game on Android and iOS and we can confirm that a new Pokemon Go 1.0.1 update on iOS is now available to download.

Doom wasn’t the first shooter that depicted the world through the eyes of its hero, Street Fighter 2 wasn’t the first one-on-one brawler, and Candy Crush was hardly the first game of rearranging items in lines, but all three were the trailblazers that set their respective genres alight. Niantic Labs released the app for the Apple App and Google Play store a day after releasing the game in Germany.

Franken, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Privacy and Technology Subcommittee, wrote a letter to John Hanke, CEO of Niantic Labs, requesting information about Pokemon Go, the app that is the hottest thing since, well, Pokemons.

In the game, players walk around real-life neighbourhoods to find virtual cartoon or Pokemon characters on their smartphone screens. Apparently humans, much to the joy of our digital overlords, no doubt, can quite easily becomes addicted to augmented reality. Niantic’s plan for a global release was delayed due to frequent server crashes caused by the game’s overwhelming popularity.

There is also an abundance of Pokemon gyms scattered throughout the world, which can be conquered and defended by players – encouraging participants to constantly strengthen their Pokemon and catch new ones.

Augmented reality software is used to overlay the creatures on to the real-world surroundings.

Pokemon Go is proving popular in NY. This purchase lures Pokemon to a designated location.

I could go on for days explaining every aspect of the game, but I’ll stick to the basics.

But Niantic is already in talks with various companies who want to buy sponsored locations within the game. Such news is music to Nintendo which did not expect that a 90s game revival could be so successful.
