Nintendo to start offering games for smartphones in 2016
Yesterday it was discovered that Nintendo would be revealing a few information about their first upcoming mobile game today, and right on schedule they announced a few details earlier this morning during a briefing for investors. Nintendo says this is to encourage interaction between people who are shy.

Smartphone games are great and all that, but when you’re a fan of the classics – i.e. Donkey Kong, Super Mario, etc. etc. – there’s only so much Candy Crush or Temple Run you can take.
After years of making video games exclusively for its own game systems, Nintendo is getting ready to branch out. For now, buying an Nintendo 3DS is the only way to play these titles while on-the-go.
The game allows players to contact their friends with their Mii avatars, interact with each other and share their creations.
Nintendo has finally unveiled its first foray into mobile gaming, but it unfortunately will come to smart phones a little later than anticipated.
The delay, according to Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima, is due tp “the need for more lead time to fully promote and explain Miitomo”. Game release is set to be on March 2016.
For a while now we’ve seen many indications that Nintendo has been aiming to move into the mobile gaming industry.

Even with Thursday’s poor showing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Nintendo shares are still up about 50% since it revealed it would make mobile games. We don’t yet know exactly what the game will be trying to sell you, but we’d certainly guess that new outfits for your avatar will be among the options. The company plans to utilize its properties to point toward its software and hardware offerings, adding that mobile game maker DeNA will help operate the smartphone games while Nintendo will work to guide users toward its hardware.
