Ninth Democratic Debate: Where Each Candidate Excelled and Faltered
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders came to blows in a heated United States presidential debate in Brooklyn on Thursday, raising the stakes in their increasingly acrimonious race to clinch the Democratic nomination.

Hillary Clinton then took a jab at Bernie Sanders saying he should also release his tax returns. They’ve proven to be pretty politically engaged this year: Yik Yak previously reported that more than 12 percent of all messages posted the night of March 3 were about the Republican debate.
“Much more comfortable and I think everyone that has analyzed this knows that Hillary Clinton is in the ditch”, Priebus said.
For Sanders, top searches dealt with his rallies: “How long are Bernie Sanders’ rallies?” and “Where will Bernie Sanders speak next?” were the top two. She added that Sanders’ widely criticized April 1 interview with the editorial board of the New York Daily News – in which he struggled to provide detailed explanations of key policies – raised questions about his judgment.
Since the NY delegates are awarded proportionally by the state’s 27 congressional districts, how the candidates perform across the state is important – not just in the popular vote. Sanders said the US government shouldn’t blindly support Israel and should advocate fair treatment of the Palestinians.
Clinton defended Netanyahu – his job is “very hard”, she said – and she also said the USA should engage in the region only “without ever undermining Israel’s security”.
Almost 300 delegates are up for grabs next Tuesday in NY, and the candidates have devoted significant time and energy to winning the state.
Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist from Vermont, attacked Clinton for accepting donations from the rich and powerful, and he questioned her independence and judgment. He responded: “Because it was a racist term and everybody knew it was a racist term”. Kirsten Gillibrand, who are both backing the former NY senator. “I am going to release all of the transcripts of speeches on Wall Street I gave behind closed doors”, he said.
Clinton accused Sanders of waging a “phony attack”.
Nationally, Clinton has the support of about 48 percent of Democrats, while Sanders has the support of around 45 percent of them, according to the HuffPost Pollster.
Polls have shown Clinton with a double-digit lead in the state where she twice won election to the U.S. Senate. “Terrorist attacks, rockets coming at you – you have a right to defend yourself”, she said.
