Nioh dangles more DLC for playing its beta demo next week
The second beta demo for PlayStation 4 exclusive Nioh has been dated. And there’s no better example than the latest trailer for Nioh, the upcoming samurai-inspired, action-RPG that heads into beta on August 23.

Several gameplay changes have been made since the release of the first demo in April, which Koei Tecmo says are partly the result of the helpful feedback they received from players after its culmination and that you should notice some of them immediately upon your return to the village of Usuki. This first stage of the demo will offer new challenges and the opportunity to once again fight for the mysterious Mark of the Conqueror DLC.
“As for the new Nakatsu stage, it” takes William through a mountain path leading to a deep cave, where he’ll go up against humans and supernatural enemies alike, including the seductive Hinoenma, a Yokai under the guise of a attractive woman. Defeating the stage awards the new Mark of the Strong DLC, which unlocks when the game launches.
Additionally, those who beat Usuki and Nakatsu can re-visit the stages in the Twilight mission, where stronger enemies and new foes await, along with highly-valued items.
New weapons such as a long-range hand cannon rifle and dual-wielding Katanas are included. In addition, players will get a taste of Onmyo magic and Ninjutsu elements of combat, which add bonuses to William’s attack and can invoke special techniques to provide various effects. But now we’ve reached gamescom, one of Europe’s biggest annual video game conventions, and a new wave of announcements are finally giving gamers something new to talk about. This is basically a tutorial stage that teaches new players how to fight with a katana, the most basic yet refined weapon of Nioh. The Training Dojo will be available from the beginning of the demo.
