Nissan surprises NY with Titan XD gasoline version
Nissan today unveiled the volume portion of its plan to take a bigger share of the burgeoning US pickup segment, a half-ton version of its redesigned full-size 2017 Titan.

The 2017 Nissan Titan will be offered in three configurations – crew cab, king cab and single cab – and five different trim levels.
Nissan revealed some info and press images of the standard half-ton Titan at the Chicago auto show last month, but this is the pickup’s first public appearance.
The first variant will be powered by a new 5.6-liter Endurance V8 with 390 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque, delivered via a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Nissan also said that they will launch a smaller V6 gasoline engine at the near future. Titan XD buyers will be able to select the gas V-8 in addition to the 5.0L Cummins turbodiesel already in market, Nissan says.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices are listed as $44,900 for the Titan XD S Crew Cab 4×4, $48,800 for the SV Crew Cab 4×4, $56,450 for the PRO-4X Crew Cab 4×4, $62,750 for the SL Crew Cab 4×4, and $66,600 for the Platinum Reserve Crew Cab 4×4.
Titan is built on a separate chassis from Titan XD, and is approximately 228.1 inches long (14.7 inches less than XD) and 79.5 inches wide (same as XD), with the cab size shared between the two vehicles. Fuel economy, towing, payload, and other vital specs aren’t yet available. However, based on predominant trends in the segment, we expect the majority of sales to be that of the gas-powered model.

The Nissan Titan will be assembled in Canton, Mississippi with the 5.6-liter V8 gasoline assembled in Decherd, Tennessee.
The New York auto show unveiling underscores how Nissan intends to broaden its product offering in full-size trucks, a segment that rose 6 percent in February.

Despite its rarity on the job site-or just about anywhere-the new Titan XD V-8 will cost a couple hundred more than a comparable 2016 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7-liter V-8, a vehicle that outsold the Titan 10-to-one a year ago.
