Triple Crown victor American Pharoah completed a half-mile workout at Del Mar in his last formal exercise before the Haskell Invitational this weekend.
The race is set to go off at 5:52 p.m.
The highlight of the Friday card at Monmouth Park likely will take place before the first race is run at 12:50 p.m. Eastern. New Jersey Transit will add additional trains to help get horse race fans to the park. With the large crowds expected for the Haskell, Route 36 and neighboring roads are expected to be congested and have delays, particularly Sunday evening after the race.
When he arrives at Monmouth, he will be stabled at trainer Kelly Breen’s barn.
Following the races, there will be the Joes vs. Jocks Mini Golf Phestival at Blue Grass Mini Golf, which is on the Monmouth Park grounds, from 6-9 p.m. Members of the jockey colony will play mini golf against fans during the tournament.

If capacity allows, the Summer Shore Express trains heading to New York Penn Station also will stop at Monmouth Park. NJ Transit says riders should buy roundtrip tickets in advance as there are no ticket vending machines at the track train station.
