The Spartans trailed by five midway through the first half before recovering in their first game against Northeastern.

Looking to match the best start in school history, there’s a ton on the line for Michigan State and the home fans of Matthews Arena will be rocking, hoping for the biggest upset in school history and one of the biggest in college basketball history.
The Northeastern Huskies will take on the Michigan State Spartans this Saturday. The Huskies dropped back-to-back games on the road against Detroit and Western Michigan before bouncing back with a 75-62 win against Stony Brook last week. Take Michigan State to cover the spread on the road. The Huskies have a legitimate scoring threat in David Walker (21.5 ppg) and two solid secondary scorers as well in Quincy Ford and Zach Stahl, who combine for nearly 29 points per game as well. The arena crew was standing by to remove the basketball floor for the hockey teams to meet on Saturday night. Turnovers were a killer, however, as the Spartans (12-0) forced 12 giveaways and scored 14 points off of them.
