No. 11 Badgers rip No. 8 Spartans 30
The win marked the first time Badgers have beaten multiple AP Top 10 teams in the same season since 1962 (LSU was ranked No. 5 when UW beat the Tigers three weeks ago).

Michigan State suffered their first loss of the season to No. 11 Wisconsin Saturday 30-6 as the Badgers quarterback, Alex Hornibrook, impressed in his first career start.
Wisconsin came into the season unranked.
Wisconsin won’t have the luxury of enjoying its win for long, as its next four games are against Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa and Nebraska.
NO. 3 LOUISVILLE 59, MARSHALL 28: Lamar Jackson threw five touchdown passes and ran for two more scores for Louisville.
The drive: 16 plays, 75 yards, 7:38.
“I think when it comes to a game like this, with so much history, especially Wisconsin-Michigan State, I definitely had some pregame jitters and nerves”, Connors said. “It’s not going away, it’s gonna keep happening”.
No. 4 Michigan 49, Penn St. 10: In Ann Arbor, Michigan, De’Veon Smith led an overwhelming ground game with 107 yards rushing and a touchdown and Karan Higdon ran in two scores for the Wolverines in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
The Badgers blew the game open in the third quarter by taking advantage of a Spartans turnover. “I feel like we contained the run well on first and second down, but got to be able to get off the field on third down”. Despite being listed on the dress list before the game, starting linebacker Riley Bullough was not a participant in the Spartans’ pregame warmups and did not play in Saturday’s game. They looked feeble often on Saturday as their eight-game home winning streak was snapped. Two plays later came Musso’s touchdown and the momentum reverted to Wisconsin for good. “That’s what we were banking on”.
“We were just thinking positively at that point”, Dantonio said.
After struggling on offense for 3ᄑ quarters at the Rose Bowl, Stanford put together a 70-yard winning drive capped by Burns’ fade to Arcega-Whiteside, who got one foot inbounds on an acrobatic play. Michigan State running back LJ Scott fumbled.
The Spartans gifted another touchdown to the Badgers a little more than a minute later. They kicked a field goal on their next drive, after which the wheels really started to fall of Michigan State’s wagon. Clement had been listed as questionable all week and was playing with a sore ankle. The offense just couldn’t find a rhythm with fifth-year senior Bart Houston at quarterback, so coach Paul Chryst went to Hornibrook in the second half against GSU. And he made poor throws and bad decisions all game, with three interceptions. Wisconsin intercepted him three times. “So whether somebody salutes or puts a hand over their heart, everybody has a choice to make”, Dantonio said after the game. They threw blitzes that maybe we weren’t ready for. “It was just one of those things where I didn’t hit a good ball”. Until he has a slip-up, you can expect Hornibrook to lead the Badgers onto the field for the foreseeable future.
Freshman Collin Hill, making his second start at quarterback for the Rams (2-2), cut Colorado State’s deficit to seven points with a 15-yard toss to Michael Gallup with 6:24 remaining.
Tyler Jones was 17 of 30 passing for 100 yards for the Bobcats (1-2), who have managed just six total points the past two games against ranked teams after beating OH on the road 56-54 in triple overtime in their season opener.
