Florida has made a huge bound in the national ranks after a victory over Ole fail to spot but that was just a small cross-section of the Gators success with the team going 7-1 SU and against the increase in their past eight. The Gators work out of a 4-2-5 base defense but on occasion operate in the dime with an extra safety playing in the box and essentially serving as a Mike linebacker.

Florida has an outstanding defense but Mizzou should be able to hang.
Lock said the defense switched up coverage very well. The Tigers’ defense needs to force turnovers and simply limit the scoring chances for an improving Gators’ offense. Florida couldn’t take advantage of the takeaway as kicker Jorge Powell missed a 36-yard field goal on the ensuing drive. The Gators jumped on Missouri quickly with two first-quarter Kelvin Taylor touchdowns to cap two long drives and didn’t need much more. If he can play more along those lines every week, the Florida offense will be much, much better than we anticipated. “We didn’t play the way we needed to play”.
