Georgia has been a great road bet of late, cashing in seven of its last 10 games away from home. But Georgia saw zero points in return for their efforts on forth downs. The college football odds for the game have the Rebels favored by a touchdown to pick up the win. Ole Miss led Florida State by 22 points and Alabama by 21 this season before losing both games. The senior is having a breakout year for the Rebels and leads the team with 20 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns.
No. 12 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) at No. 23 MS (1-2, 0-1), Noon (ESPN). It doesn’t hurt to have arguably the nation’s best tight end in Evan Engram and a group of receivers – Damore’ea Stringfellow, Quincy Adeboyejo, DaMarkus Lodge, Van Jefferson – who catch just about anything thrown their way. Senior running back Akeem Judd has accounted for most of the rushing production with 153 yards and two touchdowns. The Rebels didn’t commit a turnover until the starters were pulled in the fourth quarter. The ‘Dawgs must find a way to get Chubb going. Can Hugh Freeze’s team rebound against a solid Bulldogs team after blowing leads against premier opponents it had on the ropes?
“We’ve just got to play better football”, Georgia outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter said. The Rebels lost a huge lead against Florida State in week one and dropped a tough one, 48-43, against No. 1 Alabama last week. Georgia didn’t get points on the board until the Rebels took their foot off the gas.
Interestingly, Georgia has demonstrated its comeback ability in all three of its wins to date, even against Nicholls State in the second game of the year. After adding another 14 points in the third quarter, Georgia entered the final period trailing 45-0. A lot of that, of course, can be attributed to Georgia’s underwhelming pass rush, but it’s also possible that the Rebels’ O-line-which featured a lot of five-star freshman Greg Little at left tackle-is beginning to stabilize. Georgia is giving up about four yards a carry and 126 yards a game on the ground.
The Rebel defense has had its issues this season, but it seems we are getting over the hump and gaining our chemistry and identity back on defense. The Tigers might leave Atlanta with a win, but I don’t think it’s going to be easy.
Georgia: QB Jacob Eason.
Asked about that hookup this week, Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart preferred to put it in the past.
“There are a lot of mistakes being made out there”, Smart said. We really never got a rhythm in the first half. Chad Kelly is either really good, or really bad, and there is no in between.
It got ugly, real fast.
Also of concern for Smart is a running game that suddenly has turned stagnant for the Bulldogs. On 4th and 1 in the 2nd quarter, junior Nick Chubb scampered 16 yards to the Ole Miss 23.
It’s all Ole Miss today.
Georgia was unable to set any type of rhythm on offense and its defense was torched in a 45-14 loss at Ole Miss on Saturday. The Bulldogs have won nine in a row against Ole Miss when ranked in the AP poll. He completed 18 passes on 24 throws.

“It’s hard for me to remember all of them, but this one will stand out because of the types of losses that we had to the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country when we played them”, Freeze said. “They’re going to pound the ball”. Christian Payne had 41 yards and a touchdown.
