No. 13 Alabama dominates No. 8 Georgia in Athens
At long last Alabama showed off a potentially risky passing game. It’s too early to know the exact quality of a win over Georgia; prior to facing Alabama, the Bulldogs’ toughest games came against Vanderbilt and South Carolina, which have a combined 3-6 record in 2015.

Chubb and Alabama star Derrick Henry figure to get the bulk of the carries, but don’t forget about their change-of-pace backups.
Facing the possibility of being out of the playoff picture five weeks into the season, No. 13 Alabama announced it is far from finished.
As much as it pains me to say this, the SEC looks more and more like the National Football League every week. “I thought they were fighting one of our guys, so I went over there and helped diffuse the situation”. “We needed them to be extraordinary”. But the coach said the Crimson Tide responded, channeling their energy in historic fashion: The 28-point wining margin marked the largest ever by an Alabama team against a top-10 opponent on the road. Chubb can break his record with another 100-yard game next Saturday against Tennessee.
The Tide could use a familiar formula – dominant defense, a grinding running game and an effective quarterback – to achieve familiar results. “It’s what got us going but we still have to focus on what we had to accomplish”. It rained even harder in the second half. Alabama still has that potential this time around, but Pruitt has noticed a few different characteristics to this year’s Tide.
The first was Henry’s 30-yard touchdown run that was reminiscent of the season opener against Wisconsin when he turned a hole on the left side into six points.
Minkah Fitzpatrick darted through the line to block a Georgia punt, the ball bouncing right into his arms at the 1 for an easy touchdown. Saturday, he posted a career-best 189.13 passer rating (11-of-16, 190 yards, one TD) while adding 28 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
Nick Chubb rushed for 146 yards. “It’s good competitive nature, but it doesn’t mean nothing if you can’t back it up on the field”. “They’re good run-stoppers”.
The Bulldogs players weren’t the only ones who were hyped for the game.
Pruitt said that all he can do as a coach is get his secondary, which starts three sophomores and a junior, to learn from experiencing a defeat in this manner.
Indeed, the Tide scored touchdowns on offense, defense and in the kicking game. “You have to stay calm and be cool”.
With a game like this between these two teams, this is what you like to see. “That’s not something you can forget easily”.
It was small consolation during Georgia’s 38-10 loss to Alabama, but Nick Chubb made a bit of history Saturday at Sanford Stadium.
They are viewed as nothing more than caretakers, a pair of quarterbacks who mainly need to get their teams in the right play, avoid big mistakes and let all those talented players around them shine.
Overlook Alabama? Forget it. Georgia didn’t and look what happened to the Bulldogs.
