No announcement on Pagano’s future

And this is coming from a guy who beat leukemia. Not only will Pagano return but even more troubling for fans is that general manager Ryan Grigson gets to keep his job.

As he weighed this decision Monday, Irsay revisited the Colts’ previous era, the one that came to that jarring close in 2011. Will Coldplay actually make a good Super Bowl halftime show?

York made the announcement that Baalke would stay one day after firing first-year coach Jim Tomsula after a 19-16 overtime victory against the St. Louis Rams to finish the season.

“I can’t fault him this year for the injuries we’ve had and the personnel he’s had to deal with I think he’s done pretty good with what we’ve had”, fan Chad Holstine said.

Look, if you think I’m going to let someone bully my head coach, you’re wrong. We will waste no time in making the necessary changes.

And if change comes, what form could it take?

Irsay responded by saying he would never allow a head coach to be bullied. Nobody would have blamed Pagano for winning just six or seven games that first year, but Indy ended up doing much better than that … and that may have been a costly mistake. Only one opinion really matters, though, and Irsay hasn’t dropped any hints about which way he’s leaning. Either way, some realignment of the front office power structure seems in order. The old coaches saying, “It’s the Jimmies and the Joes not the X’s and the O’s” applies for the Colts. Believe it or not, the Colts announced that they will bring back Grigson for the 2016 season. He stacked up Ryan Grigson’s body of work from 2012-2015 against Bill Polian’s body of work from 1998-2001.

NICK SABAN – Pay no attention to the rhetoric about Saban being uninterested in the NFL. He certainly has nothing left to prove at the collegiate level, particularly if he captures a fifth title next week.

Kubiak said he’ll evaluate the health and play of his quarterbacks over the next few days before making up his mind. “It was that Chuck’s won 44 games in the last four years”, said Irsay, per Stephen Holder of the Indy Star. The Colts wound up hiring Jim Mora.

“I’ll tell you this, he’s given his heart and soul every day since I’ve been here”, Luck said.

Instead, the team extended the popular coach’s contract. Nevertheless, he’s an elite offensive mind who will generate a lot of interest if he does decide to give coaching another try.

The Colts did not announce the status of coach Chuck Pagano (of the expiring-contract Paganos) on Monday, and many assume that means Pagano will continue as coach. No coach faced greater challenges than Chudzinski, who replaced Pep Hamilton as offensive coordinator in midseason, worked quickly to adapt and streamline his predecessor’s complex system, and then was forced to use five different quarterbacks in the final eight games. From 1998-2001, the Colts were 32-32 with two trips to the postseason and an 0-2 playoff record. Irsay blew up the team when he chose to part ways with Peyton Manning, the Polians and a cast that included Jeff Saturday, Dallas Clark and others. Jim Irsay doesn’t want one Super Bowl. Nevertheless, his name is out there and he has rings.
