No Bengals trash talking with Steelers … not yet, anyway

The Steelers cruised last week in their opener, hanging 38 points on Washington with a huge day from Antonio Brown and with DeAngelo Williams, in for the suspended Le’Veon Bell going for 143 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Why the Bengals’ offense may struggle against the Steelers’ defense.

“Our job is to make sure our running backs do well in the run and protect Ben (Roethlisberger)”, said guard Ramon Foster.

We follow the same standards for taste as the daily newspaper.

It’s all part of what he called the “professional hatred” the two teams share. That hasn’t changed. We just took on another one within the division.

The Bengals defensive line brings a combination of size and athletic ability that will test the offensive line, but they are always up for a test.

On what he says to those who feel the rivalry is excessive: “They are not used to football”. The linebackers are aggressive. They have those trick plays where they will throw the tackles out side and you can throw the screen to either side, too. “I just want to get better and help my team”.

Heyward respects the budding rivalry with the Bengals, but he doesn’t believe it has surpassed the long-standing one the Steelers have with the Ravens.

“He presents a big challenge”, said safety Robert Golden. Actually he’s taking jabs at the state of the game which is one step away from flag football. He has a way of getting a lot of separation and has a big catch radius.

We welcome strong opinions and criticism of our work, but we don’t want comments to become bogged down with discussions of our policies and we will moderate accordingly.

On Bengals-Steelers “It’s a two-chinstrap game”.

The fallout from that game is still being seen today.

Maybe best of all, Bengals-Steelers, with both teams coming off wins and looking to establish their credentials as not only an AFC North power, but a Super Bowl contender. It’s impossible to find a wide receiver that matches his dominance, athleticism, and craftsmanship at the position. I don’t need to wait until a game like this, where the emotions run high, to express that thought.

“With Cincinnati you’ll see different double coverages”, Haley said as to how the Bengals might try to deal with Brown after the Redskins failed to deal much with him at all Monday night. Cincinnati is hard-hitting, ready to go, can score a lot of points with the offense and the defense is stout. The Jets are going to be a team that either makes the playoffs or comes very close, and beating them at their own place was a great way for Cincinnati to start the season.

The Steelers and Bengals have made a habit of beating one another on their home field in recent years. In their season openers, the duos were at their dynamic best.

Consider me skeptical, but it’s nice to see the National Football League taking precautionary measures prior to this week’s matchup.

In the game at Cincinnati in December, Burfict was fined for an egregious late and low hit on Ben Roethlisberger that did not result in an injury.
