Match all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing and you may have a good excuse to call out of work on Thursday.

Hoping to win the $100 million Powerball jackpot on July 29?

Sammie R. Robbins won the second-tier prize in the July 21 drawing after purchasing a quick pick ticket at the 7-Eleven on the 3700 block of Old Denton Road. That ticket was purchased in Illinois. They resulted in no jackpot victor and no Power Play two million dollar victor either. The first payment of approximately $3.3 million (before taxes) will be made shortly after the victor turns the ticket in at their state’s lottery headquarters. One ticket holder matched 4 White Balls, plus Powerball, winning $10,000.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 4, 22, 27, 28, 52 with the Powerball at 35.

Draw game sales held almost steady, at $338.6 million. Tonight, there’s a 1-in-45-million chance that you could win the $31 million Lotto jackpot.

That kind of ticket-buying rush happens more often these days with Mega Millions games, multi-state lotteries where headlines about astronomical payouts prompt a ticket-buying fever – which in turn feeds the kitty and makes those mega-pots of money grow even faster.

Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each entry to the draw costs £2 and tickets are available across the UK and online.

All-time, West Virginia has had eight Powerball jackpot winners. “It was the things we can’t control – namely the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots – that kept our dividends from rising to the level we’d hoped”. The next drawing will be 11 p.m. Saturday. Gardiner later told the Daily Mail that the jackpot had ruined his life for many years.
