It appears the gifted guitarist is the victim of another celebrity death hoax, allegedly buoyed by a reporter’s tweet.
Rumors swirling the guitarist’s death hit the Internet today and a few people took it to be truth.
The rumors intensified on early Wednesday morning after Chris Walker with CBC Kelowna reportedly tweeted that the 68-year-old performer had passed away. Over on Facebook, the musician’s official page posted: “From Team Santana: Carlos is alive and well and enjoying his morning!”
Here is a tweet from Santana this morning. “Thank you all for your concern, but the reports of his passing are false”, the statement read. “Wrong to rely on single source, and against CBC policy besides”.
Soon soon after that, the Smooth hitmaker’s daughter, Stella, expressed her dismay at the faulty reporting, to which Walker apologized profusely.
