No compromise on Karachi operation, PM tells Sindh CM
Issues related to financial needs of Sindh government amid anti-terrorism operation also came under discussion.

Meeting between Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss the issue Rangers’ power extension was held in Islamabad today.
Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, soon after receiving Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here this morning, reached National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), for necessary examination.
Sources said the CM conveyed his concerns to the PM regarding Rangers powers granted to the paramilitary troops under antiterrorism law.
The prime minster during his visit of Karachi on Monday had invited Sindh chief minister to discuss the dispute between the centre and the province over special powers for Rangers in Karachi, sources said.
Sindh Government has time and again made it public that Federal Government had not given a single penny to the province for the ongoing military operation despite several commitments made in this connection by the Prime Minister over the past one year.
On the other hand, CM Sindh will be accompanied by Sindh’s Interior Minister Sohail Anwar Sayyal and Provincial Minister for Finance Murad Ali Shah.
Naek briefed the participants on the legal position of the Sindh Government in the matter and it was decided that Chief Minister place all these things before the Prime Minister.
Qaim Ali Shah also raised issue of Centre’s interference in provincial matters, saying that it was against provincial autonomy.

Before leaving for the Federal capital, CM Sindh had chaired a high level meeting in Karachi to discuss the issue of Rangers’ powers in Sindh.
