When the National Football League draft was held in April there were two players I was hoping the Cowboys would select, and they ended up getting them both – Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott.
Prescott won’t be the only offensive rookie that the Cowboys are relying on in Week 1.
In other words, Rookie, Welcome to the NFL. It puts Prescott in a good position to manage the offense effectively, particularly against a Giants defense that while on paper looks improved but still grades out as league average.
NY had trouble stopping most of their opponents in 2015, ranking dead last in the league by allowing over 420 yards per game. And given that he will face a pass rush that includes Jason Pierre-Paul, Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison, it might be a long as well as a painful afternoon for Prescott.
Most of New York’s struggles during their 6-10 season were on the defensive side. With the stability Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. provide, the Giants have the potential for a successful year.
“Dak is a winner,” Ben McAdoo said.
Entering his sixth season, Bailey has made 144 of 159 attempts, including 30 of 32 past year.
The recent early-season history between the Giants and Cowboys has not been kind to NY.
That’s an ominous number for Dallas because it’s how many games Romo missed after he broke his left collarbone the first time last season. The question that Cowboys fans want answered is how will the team do without starting QB Tony Romo. With rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott on the roster, the offense has a new weapon, but the Cowboys’ success will be hit or miss this season.
