No Destiny 2 in 2016 claim insiders

According to a recent Kotaku report, we’re not getting Destiny 2 this year.

Unfortunately, despite that content costing extra money (on top of the cost of the base game), the game’s publisher, Activision, is hoping to make even more money with something called “microtransactions”. If ammo packs were to be sold, it would mark the first time items that directly affect gameplay will have been sold – setting Bungie and Destiny down a path many fans would not be happy about. The tale goes something like this: Destiny’s original release date of September 2013 was delayed because the bigwigs at Bungie were not completely satisfied with the story in the summer.

Nonetheless, The Market for Computer & Video Games have noted that one source guaranteed that few new DLC packs have been now put into development to compensate for the “Destiny 2” delay. Dague has also seen the concept art for the sequel and the new exotic weapons, and is pretty optimistic of the sequel.

Destiny 2 had been long planned to arrive in September this year, two years after the original game launched. “However, as long as there is new Destiny content in 2016, we feel confident in our overall company growth assumptions and would remain bullish on the long-term value of the franchise”.

Bungie shared news of a matchmaking update headed to the new Iron Banner multiplayer event that will be featured this week.

The fact this change was not announced at the time has been a real point of contention among the game’s hardcore.
