No doubt that Sony will be making a sequel to Ghostbusters
It was rumoured past year that Sony were developing a parallel film with a crew of ghostbusting men, but Ivan Reitman, who directed the 1984 original and now oversees the franchise, denies it is being made.

Director Paul Feig and Ms. McCarthy have worked together previously, although this summer’s blockbuster represents their most successful effort to date.
“The Secret Life of Pets” grossed an impressive $50.6 million in its second weekend, according to industry tracker Exhibitor Relations, bringing its total USA profits to $203.2 million. Right now it’s tough to say if this is a result of the internet smear campaign Ghostbusters fell victim to or if the movie just isn’t that good. While the reviews have been positive for the most part, they haven’t been overflowing with praise either.
While it’s not an official confirmation of the sequel (which could possibly star Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones once again), an affirmation coming from Sony itself is pretty close.
Dropping from second place to third place was “The Legend of Tarzan”, starring Margot Robbie and Alexander Skarsgard.
The only other film to debut in wide release, the Bryan Cranston drama “The Infiltrator”, finished with $5.3 million over the weekend. Pixar’s sequel to Finding Nemo could only earn a 4th place worthy $11 million this weekend past, but that latest contribution was enough to eclipse Shrek 2′s figures and give it the highest domestic total for an animated movie ever. “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates”, $7.5 million 6.
