No evidence a second son of drug lord kidnapped, Mexican official says

El Chapo Guzman is now being housed at a maximum security prison in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua awaiting his extradition to the United States where he is facing federal drug trafficking, money laundering and murder charges.

The state AG confirmed on Tuesday that Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, one of the Sinaloa cartel leader’s sons, was abducted along with five other people from the La Leche restaurant.

No one has contacted Mexican authorities to report the men missing, and authorities have not heard from the kidnappers, Jalisco Attorney General Eduardo said at a press conference via CNN.

The gunmen detained six men and nine women, but the women were later released, restaurant employees said. The photograph was obtained from one of the cell phones recovered by authorities at the scene of the kidnapping. “At this moment, we have identified four of the kidnapped, one of them being Jesus Alfredo Guzman”, he added.

Joaquin Guzman is being held in Ciudad Juarez, across the U.S. -Mexico border from El Paso.
