No evidence to show Pakistan behind Pathankot attack: Indian official
Asked about security lapses, he said, “That is for the government to see. You are weakening the resolve of our civilians who fight to protect India’s borders sitting on India’s borders every day”, he added.

He said that this was lamentable given the fact that India had succeeded in putting Pakistan in the dock after the 26-11 Mumbai terror attacks.
At the Congress briefing, party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala made a scathing attack on the government accusing it of weakening India’s fight against terrorism nationally and internationally with the NIA director giving “clean chit” to Pakistan and its agencies.
The Congress leader further said the global pressure that was put at India’s instance post 26/11 Mumbai terror attack now stands weakened by successive statements made by the government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership.
“India is suffering at the cost of Pakistan-sponsored terror for decades now known at global platform, challenging the sovereignty of our country”.
Following the Pathankot attack, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a telephonic conversation with his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi assured him of Pakistan’s full cooperation in investigation of Pathankot air base attack. Net outcome was the loss of seven lives of our Army jawans and attack on Pathankot Air base.
Sharad kumar said NIA had completed its India leg of investigation and was waiting for Pakistan to allow the NIA team to visit Pakistan to complete the investigations.
The Indian government has also asserted that “enough information” on the involvement of Pakistanis has been provided to Islamabad.
A Pakistani investigation team had visited India in March 2016 to probe Pathankot attack incident.

In an interview with Indian news channel News18, the Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Sharad Kumar, said that there was no evidence that the Pakistan government or Pakistani government agencies had helped the militants in carrying out the attack.
