No #FOMO for advertisers as Instagram launches new business tools

Social media giant Instagram is today launching new business profiles and insights on how all content performs for businesses in the UAE. Tarun Sinhal, research director at market research and analysis services provider AMRB, told Gulf News that there are small- and medium-sized businesses that are using Instagram to advertise their products.

In case you’re learning about this for the first time and are wondering what the differences are, as you can see in the screenshots above, business profiles will have an easier way to allow customers to get in touch with them.

“Now business owners can project their profiles and posts stand out, tools that would let them understand their current and prospective customers and those that would help them acquire new customers”, he said.

Instagram has announced that it is now rolling out new tools for business pages, so that companies will gain better exposure and keep their users engaged. The latest move has been created to keep active businesses happy and encourage more to sign up, and was first teased via a blog post from the company a few months back. Business profiles also unlock access to insights and the ability to promote, Instagram said.

Later this year, Instagram is launching the Promote tool which will essentially allow a business to promote a well-performing post as an advert to attract more customers. Insights (analytics): Insights on Instagram give businesses actionable information about who their followers are and which posts resonate better than others-all from within the mobile app. Users simply pick a post they have already shared on Instagram and add a button encouraging people to take action.

Instagram has launched its hotly-anticipated new set of business tools, which will help advertisers on the platform better stand out from ordinary users and equip them with greater measurement capabilities. In fact, a non-trivial number of users (exact numbers are not available) aged 15 to 35 have dropped off Facebook to move to Instagram during the past couple of years, mainly because they don’t want to be on a social network their parents are using. Since 2014, Instagram’s monthly user base has more than doubled in size.
