The 27-year-old British superstar took to the stage at the ceremony – held at The Staples Center in Los Angeles – to sing her ballad All I Ask but things didn’t go to plan.

“Something like that may simply be distracting or off-placing”, Portnow stated.

Speaking to UsMagazine.com, he said: “All credit to her for the professional that she is”. “That was all an issue on our behalf”. According to Variety, he said that as the piano was being lifted onto the stage, a microphone in the piano dropped, which caused the audio glitches heard during the broadcast. The switch caused the audio to cut for a few seconds. “It was fastened in a matter of seconds, however we have by no means glad when one thing like that occurs”.

The problems did not go unnoticed by TV viewers with many taking to social media to complain about the sound issues.

Fans on Twitter couldn’t believe that a pitchy, out of tune performance was coming from Adele, as she’s known world wide for her stellar live performances.

Sam Hunt and Carrie Underwood had an early medley of songs that had one commentator declare, “This performance is the worst”. Another needed to know: “Who is mixing the audio on the Grammy’s?”.

Paul Inder, the son of Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, was critical of the audio mixing during the Hollywood Vampire’s tribute to his late father.

Adele later gave a shout out to Kendrick Lamar, who took home five awards: best rap album, best rap performance, best rap song, best collaboration, and best music video.

“Our show is the most complicated in terms of audio of any show on television”, he said.

The audience never saw two other scheduled performers. An unwell Rihanna was a late no-present on physician’s orders to relaxation her vocal cords for forty eight hours. In a press release, Hill’s consultant provided a unique model of occasions, which Portnow stated was inaccurate. Instead, the ’70s funk band announced Taylor Swift as album victor for “1989” and Beyonce presented Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars with record honors for “Uptown Funk”.

While Adele usually sounds flawless, sound problems plagued her performance of “All I Ask” during the Grammys on February 15.
